The Fourth Annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) Pride Parade in Greater Kaohsiung has been organised by Kaohsiung LGBTIQ Pride Parade Community. It is scheduled for Saturday, 29th June, 2013 under the theme “Everyone sharing the same space in harmony”.
“Space” is the fundamental necessity for human being’s daily life. However, being differentiated by the majority, LGBTI communities often have to confront prejudice, discrimination and bullying while seeking a space where they can freely be themselves and live with peace of mind.
No matter what your sexual orientation is, your expressive support helps prevent our LGBTI communities from being treated differently. Your support also helps enrich our courage to stand strong and speak out when dealing with discrimination and bullying.
It is vital to learn how to respect the diversification existing in our society.
We hope you will stand up and join us in vigorously raising our voices together to the whole of society with the slogan “Everyone sharing the same space in harmony”.
Invitation to people of all nationalities and ethnicities
People of all nationalities and ethnicities are most welcome to attend the LGBTIQ pride parade with us and enjoy the various gay venues in Kaohsiung City. You can also choose to participate in our activities by volunteering and by passing on our information to your friends and any mass media you know. Being a relatively small-scaled parade, when compared to that in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital city, any assistance you can give would be most appreciated.
